At the City of Science and Industry
In September 2022, at the opening of its cultural season, the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie offers its Cancers public a large temporary exhibition embracing all the scientific, psychological and social dimensions of this complex disease.
For thirty years, the overall number of new cases in France has increased every year. Today, almost four million people live or have lived through the experience of cancer in our country, and more than 382,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. The most frequent in men are cancers of the prostate (48,427 new cases per year), then those of the lung (32,500 cases) and the colon-rectum (24,000 cases). In women, breast cancer is the most common (59,000 cases), followed by colon-rectum (21,000 cases) and lung (17,000 cases).
